Classic Barjees is a traditional game rooted in Middle Eastern culture, with origins believed to trace back to India and subsequent dissemination along the Silk Road to Persia and the Levant. Historically, it is played on dark velvet fabric adorned with intricate embroidery, reflecting its cultural significance.

The game involves the casting of six cowry shells each turn, which determine the number of moves based on whether they land on their open or closed side. The objective is to navigate your pawns around the board and into the central area known as the "Kitchen" or "Mutbakh" in Arabic.

Gameplay is driven by the results of each shell throw, where specific combinations of open and closed shells influence your movement options. Success is achieved by strategically progressing all your pawns into the central zone before your opponent.

Classic Barjees offers three gameplay modes:

• Singleplayer: compete against an AI opponent
• Local multiplayer: take turns competing against a friend on the same device
• Online multiplayer: engage in matches against friends or strangers through matchmaking, with integrated invite sharing via iMessage within the app
